Looking at a Yukon Denali for the family but the AFM horror stories have me second guessing everything

My wife is expecting our third later this year and we've officially outgrown her CR-V so I've been tasked with finding something that can swallow up three car seats and still have room for a double stroller plus the weekly Carrefour run without feeling like we're playing Tetris, and honestly a 2017 or 2018 Yukon Denali seems like the obvious answer because the prices on the used ones are actually not insane right now and the space is ridiculous. I went and looked at one in Al Ain last weekend, white with the cocoa interior and a clean Carfax report showing regular oil changes at the dealer, but the more I read on the GM forums the more I'm seeing people talk about the Active Fuel Management lifters collapsing and taking out the camshaft around the 100k kilometer mark which this particular truck is creeping up on. I also noticed the transmission felt a little lazy shifting between second and third but I couldn't tell if that's just how these old six speeds behave in stop and go traffic or if it's the torque converter starting to check out. I've got a guy I use for basic maintenance on my sedan but he's honest enough to tell me he doesn't have the diagnostic software to dig deep into the AFM hours or check the transmission adaptive pressure values, so I've been poking around to see if there are Dubai GMC Vehicle Inspection Specialists who can actually give me a real read on the engine health before I commit to what's supposed to be our reliable family hauler. Anyone here actually own one of these full size GM SUVs and have insight on whether the lifter issues are blown out of proportion or if I should be budgeting for a top end rebuild as part of the purchase price.
